Both suffer horribly from the ravages of chronic illness such as fibromyagia, chronic fatigue, lupus, and more. Perhaps we can minister to one another.

Damn it
Flattened affect, uncommunicative, non-emphatic doctors make life miserable, no matter how "skilled" he or she may be. You are dealing with persons, Doctor X, not a collection of symptoms, damn it.
I get this. I have a friend who is rapidly losing ground in her courageous battle to survive a virulent sarcoma. Damn it anyway. Sigh.
