Bereavement: Thoughts on Missing My Mother

Bereavement feels the presence of absence,

and the absence of presence.

My loved one is gone,

but here, with me (in absence).

What an odd sensation,

invoking loneliness (she is gone),

fondness (I loved her),

and disorientation (I am not the same without her),

all at the same time.
