The next time you laugh or even get a kick out of such a weather changes, remember your brothers and sisters in sorrow. Yes, "this is the day the Lord has made," but it is next to impossible to "be glad in it."
A place to find hope and share pain in the struggles of chronic illness within the framework of Christian existence. I welcome the sufferers and those who try help them ("the strong ones"). Both suffer horribly from the ravages of chronic illness such as fibromyagia, chronic fatigue, lupus, and more. Perhaps we can minister to one another.

Weather Drops
Many do not know that precipitous weather changes, particularly from warm to cold, are torture for those with chronic illnesses. When the barometer plunges, so do the spirits of many who suffer, suffer, and suffer from fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic fatigue, and other such plagues. Some are consigned, against their wills, to live in areas where this often occurs--such as Denver, Colorado.

ReplyDeleteThat explains why my pain levels inexplicably increased yesterday. If I think back the pain suddenly kicked in around the time the temperature rapidly fell and the air pressure outside noticeably changed.
ReplyDeleteWhile the knowledge does not ease the pain having some explanation helps - it adds a layer of frustration to the whole thing when the attacks of pain make no sense and seem random.
